156Access codesThere are several access codes that are used byyour phone and its SIM card. These codes help youprotect the phone against unauthorised use.Some access codes can be changed using theSecurity menu option (Menu 4.4). See page 111for further details.Phone passwordThe Phone lock feature (see page 112) uses thephone password to protect your phone againstunauthorised use.The phone password supplied with the phone ispreset to “00000000” at the factory. To change thepassword, use the Change password menu option(Menu 4.4.4). See page 113.PINThe PIN (Personal Identification Number) protectsyour SIM card against unauthorised use. It isusually supplied with the SIM card. When the PINCheck feature is enabled (see page 112), you mustenter the PIN each time you switch on the phone.If you key in an incorrect PIN three times insuccession, you’ll have to key in the PUK and pressthe OK soft key to unlock the phone. Key in a newPIN and press the OK soft key. Key in the new PINagain and press the OK soft key.
