Menu functions68Setting up the Bluetooth featureThe Bluetooth menu provides the followingoptions:• Activation: activate or deactivate the Bluetoothfeature.• My devices: search for connectable Bluetoothdevices.See the next section.• My phone’s visibility: allow other Bluetoothdevices to connect to your phone.• My phone’s name: assign a Bluetooth devicename to your phone, which is then displayed onother devices.• Secure mode: determine if the phone asks foryour confirmation when other devices accessyour data.• Bluetooth service: display available Bluetoothservices.Searching for and pairing with a Bluetoothdevice1. From the Bluetooth setting options, select Mydevices.2. Select Search new device.After searching, a list of devices to which you canconnect displays. The following icons indicate thekind of device:• Hands-free or headset• Mobile phone• Computer• PDA• Unknown deviceThe colour of the icon indicates the status of thedevice:• Grey for unpaired devices• Blue for paired devices• Red for devices that are currently connectedto your phone3. Select a device.4. Enter a Bluetooth PIN code of up to 16 digits andpress <OK>. This code is used just once and youdon’t need to memorise it.When the owner of the other device enter thesame code, pairing is finished.Using device optionsFrom the device list, press <Options> to access thefollowing options:• Connect: connect to the currently selecteddevice. You need to enter the Bluetooth PIN.• Disconnect: end the connection with thedevice.• Browse device: search for data from theselected device and import data directly to yourphone.• Authorise/Unauthorise device: determine ifthe phone asks you to permit connection whenother devices try to connect to your phone.Some devices, especially headsets or hands-freecar kits, may have a fixed Bluetooth PIN, such as0000. If the other device has one, you mustenter the code.
