Section 2A: Phone Basics 61Phone BasicsDialing and Saving Phone NumbersWith PausesYou can dial or save phone numbers with pauses for use withautomated systems, such as voicemail or credit card billing.There are two types of pauses availableon your phone: Hard Pause sends the next set ofnumbers in your Contacts entryonly after you press .This is indicated with a P withinthe number sequence. 2sec Pause automatically sends thenext set of numbers after two seconds. This is indicatedwith a T within the number sequence.To save phone numbers with pauses:1. Enter the phone number.2. Select Options ( ), and select either Hard Pause or2sec Pause.3. Enter additional numbers and additional pauses (shownabove).Tip: Creating a saved series of numbers with pauses is very usefulwhen entering data into an automated system.For example, if accessing your bank information requiresdialing a toll-free number, followed by an account numberand then your PIN, you can place a two-second pause aftereach group of numbers to ensure they are read correctly.Note: You can have multiple pauses in a phone number andcombine both two-second and hard pauses.MENUOKTALK
