13EnglishReceiving a CallTo receive calls on a single channel, simply make surethe radio is switched on and set to the correct channel.Refer to “Scanning” for information about listening foractivity on more than one channel.Respondingto callsWhen you receive a call, the radio will unmute and youwill hear the incoming transmission. To respond, simplylift the microphone off-hook, press the PTT key andidentify yourself.Monitor The T2010II and T2015II are equipped with mutefunctions which screen out weak signals and callsintended for other people.The table below describes these mutes and how to usethe Monitor ( ) key to turn them on and off.Purpose: To turn on or off:CTCSSDCSTo eliminate signalsthat do not carry yourfleet’s identifyingtone or code.Press the Monitor ( ) keybriefly.RFsquelchTo eliminate signalsthat are weaker thana preset level.(Switching this offsometimes improvesreception in mar-ginal conditions.)To turn off, press and hold theMonitor ( ) key until theMONITOR indicator flashes.Press again to restore.
