Tait cannot retrieveforgotten passwords.4.2.2 Setting the IP AddressBefore the base station is installed on site, you need to provide it with itsproper IP address. Make sure that you do not lose this address.1. Select Identity > Identity > Network.2. Enter the required details in the Change network identity area andclick Save.When a user saves or changes the IP address of an online base station,the base station will sometimes reset. Tait recommends that all config-uration changes are made after taking the base station offline.4.2.3 Security CertificatesYou can upload your own security certificates to the base station (Tools >Settings > Web certificate). If you have installed and configured theappropriate Certification Authority software, you can issue securitycertificates for all base stations. After uploading the certificates to the basestations, you can configure all maintainers’ web browsers to acceptsecurity certificates from your own Certification Authority.Before you have uploaded a security certificate to the base station, itwill raise a security warning when your browser connects to it for thefirst time. The base station creates a self-signed certificate when thefirmware is installed. Your browser raises a security warning becausethe security certificate was not issued by a trusted Certification Author-ity. The browser has a way of letting you override or bypass the securitywarning.4.2.4 Connecting a Networked PC to a Base StationYou may want to temporarily disconnect a networked PC from its LAN inorder to be able to establish a direct connection with the base station. Aphysical connection is needed as well as an alternate (Windows 7,Windows Vista, Windows XP) or temporary (Windows 2000) IP addressand subnet mask.Windows 7 orWindows Vista 1. Remove the local area Ethernet connection and connect an Ethernetpatch cable between the PC and the base station. You can use eithera straight through or crossover Ethernet patch cable with the currentbase station firmware.
