T801-4 Installation and Operation Manual System Configuration 49© Tait Electronics Limited September 20074 System ConfigurationThe T801-4 can be configured in hardware by the DIP switches on the rearpanel, and by the links on the system interface board. Softwareconfiguration is carried out using the ET software (refer to “Programming”on page 35).The T801-4 needs to be configured for operation in the following systemconfigurations:■ T801-4 with internal GPS receiver■ T801-4 with external GPS receiver■ T801-4 with both internal and external GPS receivers■ T801-4 supplied with a single 1PPS signal from a QS2 RSU system■ T801-4 supplied with dual 1PPS signals from a QS2 RSU system.Note You cannot use the T801-4 to provide a 1PPS signal to the QS 2RSU with version 3.00.00.00 and later firmware. AlthoughPORT B provides a 1PPS RS-485 output, the associated VALIDsignal (TTL steady state level) is not compatible with version 3 andlater firmware, which is designed for a pulsed VALID input.Refer to the RSU Service Manual for more information. This chapter describes how to configure the T801-4 to operate in yoursystem. Information is provided on the following topics:■ setting the links on the system interface board■ setting the DIP switches on the rear panel■ connecting the T801-4 to a GPS antenna and/or receiver■ connecting the T801-4 to a QS 2 RSU■ programming, monitoring and alarms.
