1- Introduction TASCAM CC-222SL6 – After recordingErasing tracksIt is possible to erase the last recorded track, the last tworecorded tracks, the last three recorded tracks, etc. It is not,however, possible to erase tracks in the “middle” of the disc.CAUTIONThis operation cannot be undone. If you are goingto erase a track or tracks, make sure that they arerecordings that you really want to erase!NOTETo operat this function, the unit should be in Continuemode. The function cannot to be used when play-back mode is Single, Random or Program. If erasingis attempted in such modes, Cannot ERASE! will bedisplayed.1 With the disc loaded, and the unit in stop mode,press the ERASE key.2 If the display does not show ERASE XX-XX?, whereXX-XX is the number of the last track recorded onthe disc, turn the MULTI DIAL or use the SKIP keysuntil it is displayed.3 Turn the MULTI DIAL or use the SKIP keys tochange the number of the first track to be erased.The highest value that this number can take is thelast track recorded (for example, if 17 tracks havebeen recorded on the disc, 17-17 means that the lasttrack only, number 17, will be erased). The lowestvalue that this number can take is 2 (if this numberwas 1, the whole disc would be erased, as describedbelow). If you do not want to proceed with the eraseoperation, press the ERASE key or STOP key.NOTEIf only one track has been recorded on the disc, onlythe “erase disc” option (see “Erasing a whole disc” onpage 28) is available.4 When the range of tracks to be erased has beenselected, press the MULTI DIAL or the ENTER key.If the erase operation has been selected, the word ERASEflashes on the display, and the timer starts counting down.At the end of the countdown period, the word Completeappears briefly on the display, and the display returns tothe track/time display.Erasing a whole discWhen you want to erase a whole disc (all the tracks on adisc), follow the procedure below:1 With the disc loaded, and the unit in stop mode,press the ERASE key.2 Turn the MULTI DIAL or use the SKIP keys until thedisplay shows ERASE DISC?.If you do not want to proceed with the erase opera-tion, press the ERASE key or STOP key.3 To erase the contents of the disc, press the MULTIDIAL or the ENTER key.NOTEThis operation cannot be undone. If you are going toerase a disc, make sure that it contains only record-ings that you really want to erase!If the erase operation has been selected, the wordERASE flashes on the display, and the timer startscounting down a time value shown on the display.At the end of the countdown period, the wordComplete appears briefly on the display, and thedisplay returns to the track/time display.Refreshing a discIf a CD-RW disc has been corrupted at any point (e.g.power has been cut off in the middle of a finalize opera-tion, etc.), or has been used in a computer or another pieceof equipment that makes it unreadable, it is possible to“refresh” the disc to make it usable again.1 With the disc loaded, and the unit in stop mode,press the ERASE key.2 Turn the MULTI DIAL or use the SKIP keys until thedisplay shows DISC REFRESH?.3 To refresh the disc, press the MULTI DIAL or the EN-TER key.If you do not want to proceed with the refresh op-eration, press the ERASE key or STOP key.NOTEThis operation cannot be undone. If you are going torefresh a disc, make sure that it contains only record-ings that you really want to erase!If the refresh operation has been selected, the wordsERASE XX:XX are shown on the display, and thetimer starts counting down.At the end of the countdown period, the word Com-plete appears briefly on the display, and the displayreturns to the track/time display (of course, thereare no tracks, and the disc is at the start, with thetotal time of the disc available for recording).
