18 TASCAM CD-200i3 − Preparation for UseBy using the AUX IN input on the front panel of this unit toconnect the analog outputs of other audio players and iPodsthat do not have dock connectors, you can transmit theoutput of these devices from the output jacks of this unit.Since the AUX IN does not have an input level adjustment,adjust the output level of the connected device.CAUTION• Minimize the volume of an external device beforeconnecting it to the AUX IN. Failure to do so couldcause a sudden burst of loud noise, which mightresult in hearing damage, for example.• Before connecting or disconnecting something to theAUX IN jack, set the output source to CD or iPod (notAUX), or turn the CD-200i’s power OFF.Connecting external audio playersRemoving the iPod• Before connecting or disconnecting an iPod, set theoutput source to CD or AUX (not iPod), or turn the CDplayer’s power OFF.• When connecting and disconnecting an iPod, align itwith the dock connector and proceed gently to preventputting pressure on the dock connector.
