The US-224 ControlPanel5.1 Main PageIn the Control Panel’s main page, you canspecify a number of options of the US-224’sASIO handling.The Control Surface Protocol settinggoverns the type of MIDI messages used tosend fader and button information from theUS-224 to applications. The correspondingdrop-down box allows you to select fromUS-224 Native or US-428 emulation modes.For more information US-428 emulationmode, refer to chapter 8. For use with mostDAW applications, it’s recommended thatyou leave the default “US-224 Native”selection.The Master Fader always sends changes inposition via MIDI. It can also be used tomake the US-224 itself change the outputlevel coming from an application. (This isuseful for programs that do not have theirown master volume control, such as SoundForge.) In Cubasis, select the MIDI onlyoption.The Input selector toggles the source of theUS-224’s inputs from analog (via any of themic or line inputs) to digital (via the S/PDIFinput).The Status area provides a view of the US-224’s current settings:Clock source: Internal or Digital InSample rate: 44100 or 48000Resolution: 24 Bit or 16 BitDigital input:Signal:Red - no digital inputGreen - digital input activeFmt:Red - improper formatGreen - proper S/PDIF formatLock:Red - digital in not ready to record,Green - digital in ready to recordThe Input Monitor area is a viewable andcontrollable version of the US-224 INPUTMONITOR mixer. Here you can control thelevel and position of each US-224 input as itwill appear on the LINE OUTPUT, DIGITALOUT, and PHONES connectors. Threecontrols (level, pan and mute) are availablefor both inputs. Note that these controls canalso be changed from the US-224 bypressing the INPUT MONITOR switch onthe unit, and using channel strips 1and 2. Ifyou make the changes this way, the controlsdisplayed in the US-224 Control Panel willbe updated to reflect the new values.Any settings shown in the input monitorsection of this control panel can be saved asone of four Snapshots. To save yoursettings as snapshot number 1, for example.click on “Save” and then click on “1”.
