37Appendix C: WarrantyairFiber® AF-5X User GuideUbiquiti Networks, Inc.Appendix C: WarrantyLimited WarrantyUBIQUITI NETWORKS, Inc (“UBIQUITI NETWORKS”)warrants that the product(s) furnished hereunder (the“Product(s)”) shall be free from defects in material andworkmanship for a period of one (1) year from the dateof shipment by UBIQUITI NETWORKS under normal useand operation. UBIQUITI NETWORKS’ sole and exclusiveobligation and liability under the foregoing warrantyshall be for UBIQUITI NETWORKS, at its discretion, torepair or replace any Product that fails to conform to theabove warranty during the above warranty period. Theexpense of removal and reinstallation of any Product isnot included in this warranty. The warranty period of anyrepaired or replaced Product shall not extend beyond itsoriginal term.Warranty ConditionsThe above warranty does not apply if the Product:(I) has been modified and/or altered, or an additionmade thereto, except by Ubiquiti Networks, orUbiquiti Networks’ authorized representatives, or asapproved by Ubiquiti Networks in writing;(II) has been painted, rebranded or physically modified inany way;(III) has been damaged due to errors or defects in cabling;(IV) has been subjected to misuse, abuse, negligence,abnormal physical, electromagnetic or electricalstress, including lightning strikes, or accident;(V) has been damaged or impaired as a result of usingthird party firmware;(VI) has no original Ubiquiti MAC label, or is missing anyother original Ubiquiti label(s); or(VII) has not been received by Ubiquiti within 30 days ofissuance of the RMA.In addition, the above warranty shall apply only if: theproduct has been properly installed and used at all timesin accordance, and in all material respects, with theapplicable Product documentation; all Ethernet cablingruns use CAT5 (or above), and for outdoor installations,shielded Ethernet cabling is used, and for indoorinstallations, indoor cabling requirements are followed.WARNING: Failure to properly ground yourairFiber units will void your warranty. (Pleasefollow the instructions on “Install a Ground Wire”on page 5 for installation of the ground wires.)ReturnsNo Products will be accepted for replacement or repairwithout obtaining a Return Materials Authorization (RMA)number from UBIQUITI NETWORKS during the warrantyperiod, and the Products being received at UBIQUITINETWORKS’ facility freight prepaid in accordance with theRMA process of UBIQUITI NETWORKS. Products returnedwithout an RMA number will not be processed and will bereturned freight collect or subject to disposal.
