2.4 HYDRAULIC SAFETY1. Always place all tractor hydraulic controls inneutral before dismounting.2. Make sure that all components in the hydraulicsystem are kept in good condition and are clean.3. Replace any worn, cut, abraded, flattened orcrimped hoses and steel lines.4. Do not attempt any makeshift repairs to thehydraulic lines, fittings or hoses by using tape,clamps or cements. The hydraulic systemoperates under extremely high-pressure. Suchrepairs will fail suddenly and create a hazardousand unsafe condition.5. Wear proper hand andeye protection whensearching for a highpressure hydraulic leak.Use a piece of wood orcardboard as a backstopinstead of hands toisolate and identify aleak.6. If injured by a concentrated high-pressure streamof hydraulic fluid, seek medical attention immedi-ately. Serious infection or toxic reaction candevelop from hydraulic fluid piercing the skinsurface.2.5 TRANSPORT SAFETY1. Make sure you are in compliance with all localregulations regarding transporting equipment onpublic roads and highways.2. Make sure that a Slow Moving Vehicle emblemand all the lights and reflectors that are requiredby the local highway and transport authorities arein place, are clean and can be seen clearly by allovertaking and oncoming traffic.Note: Emblem, lights and reflectors are to besupplied by owner, if needed.3. Do not allow anyone to ride on the machineduring transport.4. Do not exceed 32 km/h (20 mph) when transport-ing the machine. Reduce speed on rough roadsand surfaces.5. Use a tractor of 60 horsepower or more totransport machine.6. Install lighting bar before transporting.7. Use a drawbar pin with provisions for a retainer.Install the retainer.8.
