6INSTALLATIONIf your car is fitted with fully ISO connectors, you can directly install the car radio. If your car's connectors comply with otherstandards, contact your dealer to obtain specificadapter cables (see figures in the installationcard) then carry out the installation yourself (seePREPARATION).Note : Ensure that the cables cannot bedamaged by sharp edges or moving parts.PREPARATIONThe device must be connected to a 12V DCelectrical system with a negative terminal earth(car chassis).Warning: Installation that doesnot conform to theserequirements may result inmalfunction, damage or fire!To avoid the risk of a short circuit during ins-tallation, disconnect the negative terminal ofthe battery until the set has been securelyinstalled and connected.(see Installation card Fig.1).CONNECTORSConnector A**(see Fig.2)a-Power Supply1- Brown wire A8: connect to an earthingpoint on the car chassis.2- Red wire A7: connect to a permanent 12Vsupply, main power supply for the set.Ensure that this connection can handle acurrent of 10A.3- Yellow/orange wire A4: connect to theswitched 12V supply of the ignition.Note : The ON/OFF logic function exists onlywhen wire A7 (red) is connected to thepermanent 12V supply.-Optional connectionsElectronic or Motorised AntennaConnect to pin A5 the power supply for anelectronic antenna or the control wire for therelay of an automatic motorised antenna. Usethe small connector supplied.Note 1 : Do not use this connection for directpower supply to the antenna motor.Note 2 : Use passive antenna with long wire:some antennae may create waveband recep-tion problems.Pilot LightWhen the car headlights are switched on, thecontrol key lighting remains on even when thecar radio is switched off.Connect pin A6 to the dashboard wiring, usingthe small connector provided.SDVC and Speed WarningThe SDVC (Speed Dependent Volume Control)automatically increases or decreases the volumeaccording to the speed of the car. The speedlimit warning can be used to indicate that youhave exceeded a given speed.Connect pin A1 to a signal from the speedo-meter (some cars are already prepared: e.g.some VW and Vauxhall/Opel models). Pleasecontact your dealer for this point. If not, use a more detailed installation requiringextra equipment. This must be accomplishedby a technician who is familiar with the carmechanical electrical systems. After connection, refer to "Calibrating the Speed" underCONFIGURATION in page 10.Connector B**This connector is used to connect the fourloudspeakers: left and right fronts, left and rightrears (see Fig.3)Warning: Do not connect anyloudspeaker leads to earth ordirectly to a booster / amplifieror via an external fader (unlessequipped to receive such anhigh level input) !** For this accessory, contact your dealer.!!
