Split Type Installation Manual 15EN9.3.5 Correct installation of indoor unit refrigerantpipe work• If installing the rear exiting piping:• Place the seal ring supplied for the hole in the pipingand insert the coolant pipes with the condensedwater pipe through the hole.• Remember to seal the hole inside and out properlyafter installing the pipes.• Carefully bend the installation pipe in the rightdirection taking care not to overbend or kink the pipe.Warning!Danger of breakdowns or malfunction. Danger ofdamage to the coolant pipes.Bend the pipe carefully to prevent kinking orbreaks.• There should be sufficient pipe tails on the indoor unitto go through the wall width. If this is not the caseconnect further lengths of pipe as required.Carefully feed the pipe tails through the holestogether with the condensate pipework andinterconnecting electrical cable.• Hang the indoor unit on the top edge of themounting plate.• Tilt the lower part of the indoor unit forwards andinsert a spacer (e.g. a piece of wood) between themounting plate and the unit (see Figure 9.8) to allowaccess to the unit connections.Fig. 9.8 Assembling the indoor unit.• Connect the coolant pipes from the outdoor unit andthe condensed water hose to the installation drain.• Insulate the coolant piping and joints correctly andseparately. To do so, cover any possible cuts withmasking tape or insulate any bare coolant piping withthe corresponding insulation material suitable for airconditioning installations.Fig. 9.9 Section showing pipework run behind indoor unit.Legend1 Heat-resistant material2 Drain pipe3 Insulated refrigeration pipes4 Piping support plate5 Interconnecting electric cable• For pipework exiting from the right hand side andbottom of the unit extend the pipework through therelevant knock out before hanging unit (see section9.3.6).• For pipework exiting from the left of the unit, makethe connections at the rear of the unit first beforehanging the unit (see section 9.3.6).Note!The flare connections where possible should beaccessible to allow leak test and future access.9.3.6 Installation of the Indoor Unit Body• Check that the installation has been carried outcorrectly and that there are no leaks (see section 12.1).• Securely hang the indoor unit body onto the uppernotches of the mounting plate. Briefly move the bodyfrom side to side to verify that it is secure.• Lift the body up slightly from underneath, press itonto the mounting plate and then lower it vertically. The body will fit into the lower supports on themounting plate.• Check that the indoor unit is properly secured.• In the event that the body does not slot into thesupports properly, repeat this process.• Do not use excessive force as this may damage thefixing lugs, ensure that the pipework is not trappedbehind the unit.Installation of the Indoor Unit 9
