143Air conditioningsystemAir conditioning system 3The ventilation, heating and cooling unitsmake up a functiona l unit d esigned toprov ide maximum comfort at all times ofyea r, under any weather c onditions and atany outside tem perature.When the air conditioning system is on, theair is cooled and dehumidified.The heating unit heats the air a s required inall operating m od es depending on theposition of the temperature switch. The airsupply can be adjusted to suitrequirements by means of the fan.The switches for the air recircula tionsy stem 4 and cooling n are locatedbelow the heating and ventilation controls. If fumes or unpleasa nt od ours penetratefrom outside: temporarily switch on airrecirc ulation 4.The air conditioning system is onlyoperational for cooling (coolingcompressor) when the engine is running .At low outsid e temperatures the coolingunit (cooling com pressor) switches offautomatically.6
