Note: some items described may be optional 3.Quick Reference GuideDecember 2006TS 1584-B-07Vehicle securityRefuelling:Fuel filler neck at right rear side ofvehicle.Open tank flap, unscrew fuel filler cap,remove and suspend from tank flap. Thefuel tank has a limiting system whichprevents overfilling of the tank.Heated rear window,heated exterior mirrors 3:Heating is only operational with theignition on.On = Press ÜOff = Press Ü againControl indicator in button.Depending on engine, rear windowheating automatically switches onduring diesel particle filter cleaning 3.Refuelling (continued):Before refuelling, switch off engine andalso shut off external heaters withcombustion chambers (identified bystickers on fuel filler cap).Switch off mobile phones.To close, position fuel filler cap androtate past resistance until the ratcheton the cap audibly engages. Close tankflap and wipe off any overflowing fuel.Petrol engines - use unleaded fuel only.See Owner’s Manual for restrictions.Diesel engines - use diesel fuel meetingspecifications of DIN EN 590.Fuel tank capacity (all models) - 53 litres.Bonnet:To open the bonnet, pull the releaselever located below the instrument panelon the driver’s side.The bonnet will then be unlocked andwill partially open. Return release leverto its original position.Instruments and controlsIn vehicles with electric windows in alldoors 3, the remote control can be usedto closed the windows.The remote control has a range ofapprox. 5 metres. This range can beaffected by outside influences. Aim theremote control at the vehicle to operate.Handle the radio remote control withcare, protect it from moisture and hightemperatures and avoid unnecessaryoperation.The hazard warning lights come on toindicate that the remote control isoperational.Key with retractable blade 3:Press button to extend.Press button to retract and audiblyengage key blade.Easytronic 3:N = Neutral / Start positiono = Centre position(Drive position)+ = Higher gear- = Lower gearA/M = Switch betweenAutomatic mode andManual modeOnly start in N, with foot brake applied.Always move the selector lever all theway to the stop. Note the gear or modeindicator in the transmission display.Easytronic 3; Reverse gear:R = Reverse gear(with selector lever lock)To move selector lever from N to R,first press the button on the lever.Engage reverse gear only with vehiclestationary.1. FuseboxRadio frequency remote control:Depending on equipment level, thevehicle comes equipped with one of theremote controls depicted on this page.The radio frequency remote control isintegrated in the key.Used to operate:Central locking system,Mechanical anti-theft locking system 3,Vauxhall alarm system 3.Electronic Climate Control 3;heated rear window,heated exterior mirrors 3:Heating is only operational with theengine running and switches offautomatically after approx. 15 minutes.On = Press ÜOff = Press Ü againDepending on engine, rear windowheating automatically switches onduring diesel particle filter cleaning 3.Electronic Climate Control 3;demisting and defrosting windows:Press button V; V appears in the airconditioning display.The temperature, air distribution andfan are set automatically. Windows arequickly demisted and de-iced.To return to automatic mode:press button V or AUTO.To open completely, locate release leverbehind the radiator grille just right ofcentre - as viewed from the front.Pull lever and raise bonnet.Any dirt or snow on the bonnet can slidedown towards the windscreen when thebonnet is opened and block the airintake. See Owner’s Manual for furtherinformation.To hold the bonnet in the open position,insert support rod located at rightangles above the radiator grille into thesmall slot in the underside of the bonnet,at its front edge.Before closing bonnet, press support rodfirmly into its retainer. Lower the bonnetgradually and then allow it to fall intothe lock under its own weight.Check that the bonnet is locked inposition by pulling at its front edge. If itis not engaged, repeat the procedure.Luggage compartment:To unlock:Press button q on the remote controland operate button beneath handle.Manual transmission:Reverse gear:With vehicle stationary, three secondsafter declutching pull the ring up andengage gear.If the gear does not engage, set the leverin neutral, release the clutch pedal anddepress again: then repeat gearselection.Engine oil:Check the engine oil level every300 miles or before embarking on a longjourney.Important:It is the owner’s responsibility tomaintain the correct level of anappropriate quality oil in the engine.Tyre pressures (psi)for load of up to 3 persons:Engines Tyres Front RearZ 14 XEP all tyres 35 32Z 16 XEP all tyres 35 32Z 16 LET 185/55 R 16 1) 41 38Z 16 LET 195/50 R 16 1) 41 38Z 16 LET all other tyres 41 38Z 18 XE all tyres 35 32Z 13 DTJ all tyres 35 32Z 17 DTH all tyres 38 351) Only permitted as winter tyres.Tyre pressures (psi)for full load:Engines Tyres Front RearZ 14 XEP all tyres 38 44Z 16 XEP all tyres 38 44Z 16 LET 185/55 R 16 1) 44 49Z 16 LET 195/50 R 16 1) 44 49Z 16 LET all other tyres 44 49Z 18 XE all tyres 38 44Z 13 DTJ all tyres 38 44Z 17 DTH all tyres 41 46The spare wheel 3 must always beinflated to the tyre pressure for a fullload.1) Only permitted as winter tyres. |
