Self-help 133Tyre repair kit 3Minor damage to the tyre tread or sidewall, e.g. from foreign bodies, can berepaired using the tyre repair kit.Do not remove the foreign body from thetyre.Use of the tyre repair kit does notconstitute a permanent repair. Use of thissystem enables the owner to safelycontinue driving and seek technicalassistance at the earliest opportunity sothat the tyre can be renewed.Important information – see page 135.In the event of a flat tyre:z Switch on hazard warning lights, applyhand brake, manual transmission orTecshift 3 - engage 1st or reverse gear.z Correctly set up the warning triangle.Warning triangle – see page 130.Temporary puncture repairThe repair kit is located under the frontseat.1. Carefully remove the components fromthe case.2. Remove the compressor.3. Remove the electrical connection cableand air hose from the compartments onthe underside of the compressor.4. Screw the compressor air hose to theconnection on the sealant bottle.5. Invert the sealant bottle in the retaineron the compressor.Position the compressor near the tyre insuch a way that the sealant bottle isupright.6. Remove the valve cap from the defectivetyre.9 WarningDriving with inadequate tyre pressure ora flat tyre can lead to hidden tyredamage, which cannot be eliminated byusing the tyre repair kit.
