Depending on the sensor and application, takeprecautions to ensure that heavy buildup, and especially a hardeningthereof, is avoided. To identify possible undetected, dangerous failures, the safety func-tion of the instrument must be checked in adaquate intervals by aproof test.During the function test, the safety function must be treated as unsafe.Keep in mind that the function test influences downstream connecteddevices. If one of the tests proves negative, the entire measuring system mustbe switched out of service and the process held in a safe state bymeans of other measures. You can find detailed information on the proof test in the SafetyManual (SIL).10.2 Diagnosis memoryThe instrument has several memories which are available for diagno-sis purposes. The data remain even with voltage interruption.Up to 100,000 measured values can be stored in the sensor in a ringmemory. Each entry contains date/time as well as the respectivemeasured value.Depending on the instrument version, values that can be stored arefor example:• Pressure• Differential pressure• Level• Flow• Density• Interface• Percentage value• Lin. percent• Scaled values• Measuring cell temperature• Electronics temperatureWhen the instrument is shipped, the measured value memory isactive, saving distance, measurement certainty and electronics tem-perature every minute. The requested values and recording conditions are set via a PC withPACTware/DTM or the control system with EDD. Data are thus readout and also reset.MaintenanceProof testMeasured value memory
