Static field measurements: WPH-DCWarning:• Under high field conditions (above 30 mT), it isnot recommended to connect the SMP2 directlyto the WPH-DC probe as the SMP2 containsferromagnetic elements. In these cases, youmust use the 5-meter extension cable to keepthe SMP2 as far away as possible.Important note: if it is suspected that the measuringpoint may perhaps have an elevated field, it isrecommended to carry out a preliminary assessmentaround that point, approaching progressively. If itis found that the field is close to 30 mT, where theSMP2 will be placed to take the final measurement, precautions should be taken to prevent the SMP2 frommoving, or using the extension cable as mentionedpreviously.• The WPH-DC probe integrates hall sensortechnology that allows very high fields to bemeasured (up to 10 T) but these sensors havea residual voltage (without the presence of amagnetic field) that must be compensated toperform an accurate measurement. For this, you would have to use the "zero Gauss" cameradelivered with the equipment and make thezeroing of the probe. (More detail below).Special functions:DC/AC: Allows to choose between static field DC(0 Hz), variable AC (without the static component)or DC + AC (static and variable). To be able to measure the static fields veryprecisely, you have to use the DC mode. Thisalso allows not to take into account the noise orsignals that may exist above 1 Hz.Zero: this function allows to make the zeroing ofthe hall sensor integrated in the probe. It is veryimportant to do this operation before making anaccurate measurement or to correct a deviation intemperature. How to proceed:• Turn on the equipment with the probeconnected and get into the desired mode (DC,AC or DC+AC).
