T00823GB 39Checking the ignition sparkInsert the combination wrench (9) between the hoodand cylinder only as shown.CAUTION!Do not insert the combination tool into the spark plughole, but make contact only with the cylinder(otherwise you may damage the engine).Using insulated pliers, hold the spark plug (10)(unscrewed but with the plug cap on) against thecombination tool (away from the spark plug hole!).Switch the combination switch (11) to “I“.Pull the starter cable hard.If the function is correct, an ignition spark must bevisible near the electrodes.CAUTION: Use only BOSCH WSR 6F spark plug,CHAMPION RCJ-6Y or NGK BPMR 7A.Replacing the suction headThe felt filter (13) of the suction head can becomeclogged. It is recommended to replace the suctionhead once every three months in order to ensureunimpeded fuel flow to the carburetor.Unscrew the fuel tank cap (12) and pull the loss-prevention stopper out.Empty fuel tank.To remove the suction head for replacement, pull it outthrough the tank filler neck using a piece of wire bentat one end to form a hook.Caution: Do not allow fuel to come into contact withskin!Replacing the starter cableUnscrew four screws (14). Remove the fan housing(15). Remove all pieces of cable (16).Thread in a new cable (3,5 mm/ 3/16“ dia. x 980 mm /40“ long) as shown in the Figure (don‘t forget disc (17),and knot the ends as shown.Pull knot (18) into the cable pulley (19).Pull knot (20) into the cable grip (21).61626364
