Operation GP 2600wc_tx000558gb.fm 223.8 Ground Fault Interrupt (GFI)The 120V, 20 Amp receptacle (a) is equipped with a ground fault circuitinterrupt (GFI). The GFI shuts off the power to the receptacle when aground fault occurs to a piece of equipment attached to the generator. This GFI also protects the second 120V, 20A receptacle (c).The GFI should be tested for proper operation every time the generatoris used.To test GFI:Start generator. Push TEST button (d) on receptacle in. The RESETbutton (e) will pop out. Power is now off at the receptacle. If the RESETbutton does not pop out, the GFI is not working. Do not run generatoruntil the problem can be corrected. To restore power to receptacle, push the RESET button in.If the RESET button pops out during operation, stop the generator andcheck it and equipment for defects.3.9 Circuit BreakerThe generator is also protected by a 20-Amp circuit breaker (b) locatedon the control panel. The circuit breaker protects the generator from severe overloads orshort circuits. If the circuit breaker opens, turn the engine offimmediately and determine the cause before restarting. Check theappliances and tools attached to the generator for defects and makesure their power requirements do not exceed the power rating of thegenerator or the current limit of the receptacles. When the circuit breaker opens, the breaker button will pop out. Toreset circuit breaker, push button in.
