CUSTOMIZINGPage 20CONTROL PANEL SETTINGSADJUSTING DOUBLE-CLICKDouble-clicking with the pen tip can be made easier by expanding the tap area that accepts a double-click (the double-click distance), or by using the pen’s side switch (when equipped) to automaticallydouble-click when pressed. A large double-click distance may cause a delay at the beginning of yourbrushstrokes in some drawing applications. If you notice such effects, try setting a smaller double-clickdistance and using the side switch to double-click.Hint: When the pen is equipped with a DuoSwitch, press the upper switch to double-click inWindows, or the lower switch to double-click on Macintosh systems. This is easier than tappingtwice with the pen tip.CUSTOMIZING THE SIDE SWITCH BUTTON FUNCTIONSYou can set the pen’s DuoSwitch (when equipped) to simulate a variety of mouse button functions.Just select an option from the pull-down menu for either the upper or lower side switch. Your changestake effect immediately. When you bring the pen tip within 5 mm (0.2 inch) of the pen display tabletsurface without touching the tablet and press the side switch, the selected function occurs.The following list describes the available options.CLICK. Default setting for the pen tip. This option simulates a primary mouse button click.DOUBLE CLICK. Default setting for the upper position of the side switch on Windows systems, and forthe lower position on Macintosh. Simulates a double-click. For easier double-clicking, use this functioninstead of tapping twice with your pen tip.MIDDLE CLICK. Simulates a middle mouse button click.RIGHT CLICK. This is the default setting for the lower position of the side switch in Windows.Simulates a right mouse button click, which displays a context menu.CLICK LOCK . Simulates holding down the primary mouse button. Press the side switch once to initiateclick lock. Press the switch again to release click lock. Click lock is useful for dragging objects orselecting blocks of text.4TH CLICK (FORWARD ). Simulates a 4th mouse button click, which on Windows systems typically issuesthe FORWARD command in browser applications. Not available on Windows Me or 98, or Macintoshsystems.5TH CLICK (BACK ). Simulates a 5th mouse button click, which typically issues the BACK command inbrowser applications. Not available on Windows Me or 98, or Macintosh systems.DEFAULT. Returns a button to its default setting.DISABLED . Disables the button function.APPLICATION DEFINED. Allows the application to determine the button function. Use this for applicationssuch as CAD programs that have built-in button support.ERASE . Sets a button so that when the button is pressed, the pen tip will act like the eraser inapplications that support the ERASE function.INK TOGGLE . (Macintosh.) Default setting for the upper position of the side switch. Toggles the InkANYWHERE function of Inkwell on and off. Inkwell automatically recognizes and converts yourhandwriting into text and inserts it into a document. Note that Ink must be turned on for this function towork.
