Installation18 Firebox X Edge e-SeriesSet your computer to connect to the EdgeBefore you can use the Quick Setup Wizard, you must configure your computer to connect to the Firebox XEdge. You can set your network interface card to use a static IP address, or use DHCP to get an IP addressautomatically.Use DHCPThis procedure configures a computer with the Windows XP operating system to use DHCP. If your computerdoes not use Windows XP, read the operating system help for instructions on how to set your computer touse DHCP.1. Select Start > Control Panel.The Control Panel window appears.2. Double-click the Network Connections icon.3. Double-click the Local Area Connection icon.The Local Area Connection Status window appears.4. Click the Properties button.The Local Area Connection Properties window appears.5. Double-click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) list item.The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box appears.6. Select the Obtain an IP address automatically and the Obtain DNS server address automaticallyoptions.7. Click OK to close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box.8. Click OK to close the Local Area Network Connection Properties dialog box. Close the Local AreaConnection Status, Network Connections, and Control Panel windows.Your computer is ready to connect to the Firebox X Edge.9. When the Edge is ready, start your Internet browser.10. Type https://192.168.111.1/ into the URL entry field of your browser and press Enter. If you areasked to accept a security certificate, click OK.The Quick Setup Wizard starts.11. Run the Quick Setup Wizard.
