10 11Recommended TechniqueDirect the jet stream at a 90-degree angle toyour gumline. Slightly close lips to avoidsplashing but allow water to flow freely frommouth into the sink. For best results, start in themolar area (back teeth) working toward the frontteeth. Glide jet tip along gumline and pause brieflybetween teeth. Continue until all areas around andbetween the teeth have been cleaned.Pause ControlYou can temporarily stop the flow any time bypressing the pause button on the handle.When FinishedTurn the unit off. Empty any liquid left in thereservoir. Unplug the unit.GETTING STARTEDSPECIAL TIPSPik Pocket® TipThe Pik Pocket ® Tip delivers water or anti-bacterial solutions deep into periodontal pockets.To use the Pik Pocket ® Tip, lean low over yoursink and place the soft tip against a tooth at a45-degree angle and gently place the tip underthe gumline, into the pocket. Turn the unit on tothe lowest pressure setting and clean by gentlyfollowing gumline, inserting tip in between teeth.Continue tracing along the gumline until thereservoir is empty.Tongue Cleaner TipPlace the tongue cleaner on your tongue and startthe Dental Water Jet – use the lowest pressuresetting, increase as comfortable. Gently placethe tongue cleaner in the center/midline of yourtongue about half way back and with light pressurepull forward.Toothbrush TipPlace the toothbrush tip in mouth with the brushhead on the tooth at the gum line. The toothbrushtip can be used with or without toothpaste. Turnthe dental water jet on so water flows through thetip. Using a light pressure (bristles should notbend) vibrate the brush back and forth with veryshort strokes – much like you would with a manualtoothbrush. Repeat on adjacent teeth.
