1 1GETTING STARTED CARE OF YOUR WATERPIK® ULTRA DENTAL WATER JETOrthodontic TipStart on the last molar (back tooth). Aim tip ata 90 degree angle to the tooth at the gumline.Gently glide tip along gumline, pausing briefly tolightly brush area between teeth and all aroundorthodontic bracket, before proceeding to the nexttooth. Continue process until you have cleaned andirrigated the inside and outside of both the upperand lower teeth.For optimal results it is recommended thatorthodontic tips are replaced after 6 monthsof use.Replacement jet tips/attachments may bepurchased directly from Water Pik, Inc.Call 1-800-525-2774 (USA) or1-888-226-3042 (Canada) or visit ourweb site at www.waterpik.com.Using Mouthwash andOther SolutionsYour Waterpik ® Ultra Dental Water Jet can be usedto deliver mouthwash and antibacterial solutions.Ask your dental professional to recommend theappropriate solution for you. Note: use of someantibacterial solutions could shorten the life ofyour Waterpik ® Ultra Dental Water Jet. If youhave questions about using a particular solutionin your Dental Water Jet, contact Water Pik, Inc.customer service. After using any special solutionin the reservoir, take a moment after every use torinse the unit. Partially fill the reservoir with warmtap water. Aim the jet tip into your sink. Turn onthe unit and let it run until empty. This will helpkeep the tip from clogging and help your unit tolast longer.Clean the product when necessary by using a softcloth and mild non-abrasive cleanser.Before cleaning, unplug from the electrical outlet.Before exposing the Dental Water Jet to freezingtemperatures, remove the reservoir and run theunit until completely empty.Service MaintenanceWaterpik ® Dental Water Jets have no consumer-serviceable electrical items and do not requireroutine service maintenance. Repair of this productshould be performed only by an authorized servicecenter or by Water Pik, Inc.
