AccXES Client Tools User Guide 19Quick Start - Device Manager Toolü Select the Device Manager Tab.ü Click on the Device Name of the AccXES compliant printer and scanner withwhich you want to communicate from your PC.ü In the Default Printer and Default Scanner columns, select which will be thedefault devices to be used by the AccXES Client Tools.ü If your device with a connection to network printer and scanner isnot listed, select the Create a new device toolbar button. In the Networksection at the bottom of the screen, type in a name that you will recognizefor the device and its IP address.Select the Accept the device parameters toolbar button to saveit in your device list, then select it as the default printer. Also select thedefault scanner. The device name, IP Address, and Printer Identificationinformation will now appear in the bottom sections of the screen.ü For more practice, see the “Using the Device Manager Tool” section of thisuser guide.Quick Start - Document Retrieve ToolBefore using this tool, configure your network connections. Select your defaultscanner on the Device Manager Tab. Have your Controller’s Scan Directoryidentification information available. (For AccXES firmware versions less than7.0, the Scan Directory will be your account and sub-account numbers.)Enable the Create Preview feature on the scanner.FILLING IN YOUR RETRIEVAL OPTIONSü Select the Document Retrieve Tab.ü In the Scan Directory field, type in the directory identifier that you will beusing at the scanner when you scan images (for AccXES firmwareversions before 7.0 put in the account number). This will retrieve scannedimages that were assigned to that specific directory.ü In the File Prefix field, add the prefix that will appear at the beginning ofeach file name that you create from retrieving a scanned image.“MYSCAN” is the default prefix.ü In the Retrieval Directory field, use the Browse button to locate thedirectory and folder, in your file system, to which you want the retrievedimages saved.SCANNING YOUR IMAGES/DOCUMENTSü Before scanning images, if you want the media usage to go to a specificaccount for the AccXES Account Management Tool to track, Accountingneeds to be set to "Optional" or "Enabled" on the Web PMT's Accountingscreen, or on the scanner, or in the printer user interface.ü To select the file format for color scanning, at the scanner control panelpress the Mode button to select “Scan mode”. Go to the Image Qualitysection of the scanner control panel and select Photo & Normal. In theReady to Scan screen select Next button > Format > Enter button>JPEG or TIFF >Enter button.ü At the scanner, put in a User ID and Account ID. (For AccXES firmwareversions before 7.0, put in the account number and sub-account number.)ü Press the Mode button to select "Scan mode".
