Excessive RENs on a telephone line may result in thedevices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most but not all areas, the sum of RENsshould not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected toa line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the local Telephone Company. For productsapproved after July 23, 2001, the REN for this product is part of the product identifier that hasthe format US:AAAEQ##TXXXX. The digits represented by ## are the REN without a decimalpoint (e.g., 03 is a REN of 0.3). For earlier products, the REN is separately shown on the label.If this Xerox equipment causes harm to the telephone network, the Telephone Company willnotify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. But ifadvance notice isn't practical, the Telephone Company will notify the customer as soon aspossible. Also, you will be advised of your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believeit is necessary.The Telephone Company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations orprocedures that could affect the operation of the equipment. If this happens the TelephoneCompany will provide advance notice in order for you to make necessary modifications tomaintain uninterrupted service.If trouble is experienced with this Xerox equipment, for repair or warranty information, pleasecontact the appropriate service center; details of which are displayed either on the machine orcontained within the user guide. If the equipment is causing harm to the telephone network,the Telephone Company may request that you disconnect the equipment until the problem isresolved.Repairs to the machine should be made only by a Xerox representative or an authorized Xeroxservice agency. This applies at any time during or after the service warranty period. Ifunauthorized repair is performed, the remainder of the warranty period is null and void.This equipment must not be used on party lines. Connection to party line service is subject tostate tariffs. Contact the state public utility commission, public service commission orcorporation commission for information.If your office has specially wired alarm equipment connected to the telephone line, ensure theinstallation of this Xerox equipment does not disable your alarm equipment.
