Ifthe printhead is known to be out of adjustment, it should bereplaced.1. If not already removed, remove the top cover and the metal heat cover.2. Tilt the printhead to its print position and, if previously removed, attach the head tiltspring.3. For the ìhotî adjustment, scroll to the printerís hidden service support menu. (To enterthe hidden menu, scroll to the Troubleshooting menu and press Select. Press andhold the left arrow button. While holding the left arrow button; press Select.)Activate the menuís Head-to-Drum Adjust routine. The routine automatically centersthe printhead, and brings the printhead and drum to their operating temperatures. (Ifthe printhead fails to tilt back momentarily when Head-to-Drum Adjust is selected, exitand re-enter the adjustment mode to ensure the adjustment is performed accurately.)4. Lift the ink loader up and back slightly so that the printhead can be accessed. Do notunplug the printhead.5. If not already tightened, tighten the printhead mounting screws to 20 in- lbs.6. Tilt the printhead back and install a gap clip on each end of the printhead. Wheninstalled properly, each clips hooks under BOTH metal edges on the corner of theprinthead and touches the hard stop (the inner edge of the sheet metal notch). Trywiggling the clips sideways.
