32 FT-8800R Operating ManualThe FT-8800R provides a wide variety of memory system resources. These include: Independent “Regular” Memory Channels for the “Main” and “Sub” bands, each con-sisting of: 512 “Standard” memory channels, numbered “001” through “512.” Five Home channels, providing storage and quick recall of one prime frequency oneach operating band. Ten sets of band-edge memories also known as “Programmable Memory Scan” chan-nels, labeled “L1/U1” through “L10/U10.” Ten Memory Banks, labeled “BANK1” through “BANK10.” Six “Hyper-Memory” ChannelsMEMORY O PERATIONREGULAR MEMORY C HANNEL O PERATIONMemory Storage1. Select the desired frequency, while operating in the VFO mode on the “Main” band. Besure set up any desired CTCSS or DCS tones, as well as any desired repeater offset. Thepower level may be also be set at this time, if you wish to store it.2. Press and hold in the [SET] key for 1/2 second. A memory number will appear (blink-ing) on the display.3. Within ten seconds of pressing the [SET] key, use the “Main” band DIAL knob or themicrophone’s [UP]/[DWN] buttons to select the desired memory channel for storage (ifthe channel is already occupied by data stored previously, the “channel frequency” nota-tion will appear on the display.4.
