VX-8GR OPERATING MANUAL124GENERALThe VX-8GR Set Mode, already described in parts of many previous chapters, is easy toactivate and set. It may be used for configuration of a wide variety of transceiver param-eters, some of which have not been detailed previously. Use the following procedure toactivate the Set Mode:1. Press and hold the m key for one second to enter the SetMode.2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item to be ad-justed.3. Press the m key briefly to enable adjustment of the SetMode Item.4. Rotate the DIAL knob to adjust or select the parameter tobe changed on the Set Mode Item selected in above step.5. After completing your selection and adjustment, press the PTT switch briefly to savethe new setting and exit to normal operation.Some Set Mode Items (like Set Mode Item 91: TONE FREQUENCY) re-quire that the m key be pressed after setting of the parameter, and beforeexiting to normal operation.CHANGING THE DISPLAY FORMAT OF THE SET MODE ITEMBy factory default setting, the VX-8GR displays the Set Mode Item with “List” format ina Set Mode. You may change the display format of the Set Mode to our traditional “Item”format.1. Press and hold the m key for one second to enter the Set Mode.2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item 81: SETMODE FORMAT.3. Press the key briefly to enable adjustment of this SetMode Item.4. Rotate the DIAL knob to select “ITEM”.5. Press the PTT switch briefly to save the new setting andexit to normal operation.To return the display format to the “List”, repeat the above pro-cedure, rotating the DIAL knob to select “LIST” in step 4.SET MODE(“LIST” format) (“ITEM” format)
