VX-8GR OPERATING MANUAL60To initiate Preferential Memory Scan:1. Press the c key briefly to enter the Memory Recall (“MR”) mode, if you are notusing memories already.2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select any channel which has ablinking “” icon appended to the channel number.3. Press and hold in the B key, then rotate the DIAL knobwhile holding in the B key (the current Memory Scanmode will appear on the frequency display) to select thedesired Memory Scan mode. Available selections are ALLCH(ONLY), TAG1(ONLY), TAG2(ONLY), BAND(ONLY), andPMS-X.ALL CH: The scanner sweeps all Preferential Scan Channels.TAG1: The scanner sweeps only those Preferential Scan Channels with the samefirst digit of the alpha/numeric tag as the first channel on which scanningstarted.TAG2: The scanner sweeps only those Preferential Scan Channels with the samefirst and second digits of the alpha/numeric tag as the first channel on whichscanning started.BAND: The scanner sweeps only those Preferential Scan Channels which are memo-rized on the same operating band as the first channel on which scanningstarted.PMS-X: The scanner will sweep frequencies within the currently-selected PMS fre-quency pair. This is not a Preferential Memory Scan, see page 62 for details.4. Release the B key to start scanning.When there are no memory channels corresponding to the selected Memory Scanmode, the “MS ERR” notation will appear on the display.5.
