Clean or, if necessary, re-place the air filter element morefrequently if you are riding in unusuallywet or dusty areas.1. Remove the air filter case cover byremoving the bolts.2. Pull the air filter element out.3. Lightly tap the air filter element toremove most of the dust and dirt,and then blow the remaining dirtout with compressed air as shown.If the air filter element is damaged,replace it.4. Insert the air filter element into theair filter case as shown. NOTICE:Make sure that the air filter ele-ment is properly seated in theair filter case. The engineshould never be operated with-out the air filter element in-stalled, otherwise the piston(s)and/or cylinder(s) may becomeexcessively worn. [ECA10481]5.
