EMU00396Installing the PropellercC8 Be sure to install the thrust washerbefore installing the propeller, other-wise the lower case and propeller bossmay be damaged.8 Be sure to use a new cotter pin andbend the ends over securely. Otherwisethe propeller could come off duringoperation and be lost.1) Apply Yamaha Marine grease or acorrosion resistant grease to the pro-peller-shaft.2) Install the thrust washer and propelleron the propeller-shaft.3) Install the washer and tighten the pro-peller nut to the specified torque.4) Align the propeller nut with the pro-peller shaft hole. Insert a new cotterpin in the hole and bend the cotter pinends.NOTE:When the propeller nut does not alignwith the propeller shaft hole after tighten-ing to the specified torque, then tightenthe nut further to align it with the hole.4-17EMU00977Removing the Propeller1) Straighten the cotter-pin 1 and pull itout using a pair of pliers.2) Remove the propeller nut 2 andwasher 3.3) Remove the propeller 4 and thrustwasher 5.ETightening torque:Refer to “SPECIFICATIONS” page 4-1.602052000607re wqt602053 |
