69D5G11 5-26987654321Cylinder headRemoving the cylinder head1. Remove the spark plugs, thermostatcover, thermostat and thermoswitch.2. Remove the cylinder head bolts (nut) inthe sequence shown.cCDo not scratch or damage the mating sur-faces of the cylinder head and cylinderblock.Checking the cylinder head1. Eliminate carbon deposits from the com-bustion chambers and check for deterio-ration or corrosion.2. Check the cylinder head warpage using astraightedge 1 and thickness gauge 2in four directions as shown. Replace ifabove specification.Removing the exhaust cover1. Remove the exhaust cover bolts in thesequence shown.Checking the exhaust cover1. Check the exhaust cover for distortion orcorrosion. Replace if necessary.Installing the stud bolt1.
