111 Set the VOLUME control to minimum (0).2 Turn on the power supply to all thecomponents.3 Play a source and adjust the amplifier’svolume control to the desired listening level.4 Increase the volume gradually to adjust thevolume balance between the subwoofer andthe main speakers.Note: It is recommended to set theVOLUME control to the middleposition when using all thespeakers of this package in a 5.1-channel home theater system. (When the subwooferswitches to the standby mode, the power indicator lights upin red.)When you play a source again, the power of the subwooferturns on automatically by sensing audio signals input to thesubwoofer.This function operates by sensing a certain level of lowfrequency input signal. Usually set the AUTO STANDBYswitch to the LOW position. However, if the power is notswitched to ON or STANDBY smoothly, set the switch to theHIGH position. In the HIGH position, the power will turn oneven with a low level of input signal. But please be awarethat the subwoofer may not switch to the standby modewhen there is an extremely low input signal.* The power might turn on unexpectedly by sensing noisefrom other appliances. If that occurs, set the AUTOSTANDBY switch to the OFF position and use thePOWER switch to switch the power between ON andOFF manually.* This function detects the low-frequency componentsbelow 200 Hz of the input signals (i.e., the explosion inthe action movie, the sound of the bass guitar or thebass drum, etc.).* The minutes required to switch the subwoofer to thestandby mode might change by sensing noise fromother appliances.This function is available only when the power of thesubwoofer is on (by setting the POWER switch (1) to“ON”).
