15 EnYou can tune in to a radio station by specifying its frequency or selecting from registered radio stations.• The radio frequencies differ depending on the country or region where this unit is being used. Front panel display illustrations shownin this section are based on Europe model.• Only for Asia and General models:Be sure to set the tuner frequency step according to the frequency spacing in your area before you tune in to a radio station (seepage 19).1 Press TUNER to select the tuner as the inputsource.2 Press BAND to select the FM/AM band.3 Press and hold TUNING jj / ii to begintuning.Press ii to tune in to a higher frequency.Press jj to tune in to a lower frequency.When this unit tunes in to a station, the TUNEDindicator lights up on the front panel display.If the tuning search does not stop at the desired station becausethe station signals are weak, press TUNING jj / ii repeatedly totune in to the desired station.yYou can also use the buttons on the front panel if they have thesame or similar names as those on the remote control.■ Improving FM receptionIf the signal from the station is weak and the sound qualityis not good, set the FM band reception mode to monauralmode to improve reception.Front panelPress FM MODE, and then make sure the ST indicator isturned off (see page 4).Remote controlEnter FM MODE from the Option menu to select MONO(monaural mode) (see page 19).You can register up to 40 radio stations as presets. Onceyou have registered stations, you can easily tune in tothem by recalling the presets. You can automaticallyregister FM stations that have strong signals.
