Remove dipstick (Figure 9, (2)) andwipe with clean cloth.4. Fully reinsert dipstick.5. Remove dipstick. The oil level shouldbe between upper (Figure 9, (3)) andlower (Figure 9, (4)) lines on thedipstick.6. Fully reinsert dipstick.Adding Marine Gear Oil1. Make sure the engine is level.2. Remove the filler cap (Figure 9, (1)) atthe top of the housing.3. Fill with oil to the upper limit on thedipstick (Figure 9, (3)). See MarineGear Oil Specifications on page 41.NOTICENEVER overfill the marine gear with oil.4. Fully reinsert dipstick.5. Tighten the filler port cap by hand.Checking and Adding Sail DriveOilRefer to the operation manual for SD50-Tfor the procedure to check and fill the saildrive oil.ENGINE COOLANTEngine Coolant SpecificationsNote: In the U.S., LLC is required forthe warranty to be valid.• Texaco Long Life Coolant (LLC), bothstandard and premixed, product code7997 and 7998• Havoline Extended LifeAntifreeze / Coolant, product code 7994Following the manufacturer’srecommendations, use a proper LLC whichwill not have any adverse effects on thematerials (cast iron, aluminum, copper,etc.) of the engine’s cooling system.ALWAYS use the mixing ratios specified bythe antifreeze manufacturer for thetemperature range.
