English-42MAINTENANCEAdjusting the Mower DeckLevelingPosition the mower on a level, preferably1.concrete, surface.Check the pressure in all four tires. See2.“Technical Data”.Rotate blades to align front to back.3.Set the cutting height to 4".4.Measure front blade tip, should be 4" from5.ground, if not turn locknut on top of fronteyebolt till measurement is achieved. Checkblade tip at front on opposite front blade. Adjustlocknut on front eyebolt as necessary.Check rear blade measurement, should be6.4¼" from ground. If not, turn the locknut onthe top of the rear eyebolt to achieve themeasurement. Repeat procedure on oppositeside.Cutting height adjustments1. Raise and secure the deck height lever to thetransport position.2. Position blade tip so it is straight forward.3. Measure from the cutting edge of the bladesto a flat level surface.4. Drop and secure the lever at (for example)the 2" cutting height. Measure as above. Thedistance should be 2" (50 mm).Anti-scalp rollersAnti-scalp rollers are properly adjusted when they arejust slightly off of the ground when the deck is at thedesired cutting height in the operating position. Anti-scalp rollers then keep the deck in the proper positionto help prevent scalping in most terrain conditions.The anti-scalp rollers can be set in three positions.Upper position 1.5" to 3" (38 to 76 mm) grass.Middle position 3" to 4.5" (76 to 114 mm) grass.Lower position 4.5" to 6" (114 to 152 mm) grass.8011-601Leveling the mover deckAnti-scalp rollerWARNING!Blades are sharp. protect yourhands with gloves and/or wrapblades with a heavy cloth whenhandling.IMpORTANT INfORMATIONAdjust anti-scalp rollers with the mower on aflat, level surface.
