JOHNSON CONTROLS4FORM 100.50-EG5 (108)Features and BenefitsAIRFLOW CONFIGURATIONSVariable-Air-Volume – Eco 2 units are available forsingle-zone variable-air-volume (VAV) applications.Supply fans are controlled to the supply duct staticpressure setpoint, which can be reset via a BAS, orthrough an analog voltage input on the unit controllerfor optimized duct static pressure control. The staticpressure transducer is provided in the rooftop unit, and5/16” or 1/4” plastic tubing and static pressure sensormust be supplied by others and installed approximately3/4 down the longest duct run.Constant Volume – Eco2 units are available for single-zone constant volume applications. Control can be usedwith a zone sensor, thermostat, or building automationsystem.COOLING AND HEATING CONFIGURATIONSCooling Only – For applications where no heat isrequired, or heating is provided elsewhere within thebuilding HVAC system, cooling only units include anempty discharge plenum. Supply duct connections areconfigurable for bottom, left or right discharge. Thesupply air temperature sensor is included and factory-installed.Staged Gas Heat – For applications requiring gas heatfor morning warm-up, or other heating needs, a stagednatural gas furnace is available. The furnace is locatedin the discharge plenum, downstream of the supply fan.The supply air temperature sensor is located across theface of the supply duct opening in the unit. Furnacesare designed in 375 mbh modules with one stage each.Three are available on the YPAL050-061 with bottomdischarge and two are available on the YPAL050-061with left-side discharge. Ignition and safety controls areincluded and factory-wired.POWER OPTIONSSingle-point supply with terminal block – Thisconfiguration is standard, and includes three terminalsfor the incoming 3-phase power and is the standardconfiguration for the Eco 2 product. It includes the en-closure, terminal-block, and interconnecting wiring tothe compressors, heater and furnace controls, all fans, etc. In this configuration, code requires that a means ofdisconnect (not provided) must be installed at the sitewithin line-of-sight of the equipment.Single-point supply with non-fused disconnect switch– This option is the same the single-point with terminalblock option except it includes a unit-mounted through-the-door manual non-fused disconnect switch with anexternal, lockable handle (in compliance with Article440-14 of N.E.C.). This option provides a means toisolate the unit power voltage for servicing. Others mustsupply separate external fusing which must comply withthe National Electric Code and/or local codes.Dual-point supply with terminal block – This option in-cludes enclosure, terminal blocks circuited to the supplyand exhaust fans and control transformer and a secondset of terminal blocks with interconnecting wiring to thecompressors, heat (if applicable) and condenser.Convenience Outlet – This options includes a powered115V GFCI convenience outlet that can be used forpowering tools or lights for servicing. A protective coverplate is included while not in use. The outlet is locatedon the bottom left hand corner of the power panel.CONTROL FEATURES AND OPTIONSSimplicity Elite Unit Controller – All Eco 2 units areequipped with a factory-installed, programmed andcommissioned unit controller with all I/O capabilities andcontrol sequences. The controls include all on-boarddiagnostic, safety and control features to operate therooftop unit. Two RS485 communication ports are in-cluded as standard with one alarm output, a shutdowncontact, smoke ventilation contact, analog inputs forsupply air temperature and duct static pressure reset, along with a variety of other capabilities.Standard Ambient – YPAL050-061 models operatedown to 40°F as standard.Low Ambient – This option includes low ambient controlof the first refrigerant circuit down to 0°F through theuse of suction and discharge pressure transducer oncircuit one, and condenser fan speed using a variable-frequency drive on the first condenser fan of circuit one.Mechanical cooling with circuit two is locked out below45°F (adjustable).Flexsys bypass control option is not available with elitecontroller.SENSOR AND THERMOSTAT AND SENSOROPTIONSWall-Mount Zone Sensor – A thermistor zone sen-sor for wall mounting. This zone sensor is for sensingtemperature only, and does not include any setpointadjustment features.7-Wire Thermostat – This option is for a ship-loosethermostat to interface with the Eco 2 unit. All models,YPAL050-061, include an interface for a 7-wire ther-mostat as standard.
