290699-YIM-B-060742 Unitary Products Groupsor, the protector will open to shut down the compres-sor. The UCB incorporates features to minimizecompressor wear and damage. An anti-short cycledelay (ASCD) is utilized to prevent operation of a com-pressor too soon after its previous run. Additionally, aminimum run time is imposed any time a compressor isenergized. The ASCD is initiated on unit start-up and on any com-pressor reset or lock-out.FLASH CODESThe UCB will initiate a flash code associated witherrors within the system. Refer to UNIT CONTROLBOARD FLASH CODES Table 32.RESETRemove the call for cooling, by raising thermostat set-ting higher than the conditioned space temperature. This resets any pressure or freezestat flash codes.ELECTRIC HEATING SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONSThe following sequence describes the operation of theelectric heat section.Single-stage heating (applies only to 5, 7 & 10 kW230V heaters and to 7, 10, & 15 kW 460V and 575Vheaters. All other heaters MUST use a two-stage ther-mostat):a. Upon a call for heat by the thermostat, the heatersequencer (1S) will be energized. After completingthe specified fan on delay for heating, the UCB willenergize the blower motor.b. The thermostat will cycle the electric heat to satisfythe heating requirements of the conditioned space.Two-stage heating (applies only to 15, 20 and 30 kW230V heaters and 20 and 30 kW heater 460V and575V heaters.):a. Upon a call for first-stage heat by the thermostat, theheater sequencer (1S) (15, 20, 30 kW 230 volt) andcontactor (2M) (20, 30 kW 460 and 575 volt) will beenergized. After completing the specified fan ondelay for heating, the UCB will energize the blowermotor. If the second stage of heat is required, heatersequencer (2S) (12, 20, 30 kW 230 volt) or contactor(3M) (20, 30 kW 460 and 575 volt) will be energized. After completing the specified fan on delay for heat-ing, the UCB will energize the blower motor.b. The thermostat will cycle the electric heat to satisfythe heating requirements of the conditioned space.SAFETY CONTROLSThe control circuit includes the following safety con-trols:1. Temperature Limit Switch (TLS) - This control islocated inside the heater compartment and is set toopen at the temperature indicated in the ElectricHeat Limit Control Setting Table 27. It resets auto-matically. The limit switch operates when a hightemperature condition, caused by inadequate sup-ply air flow occurs, thus shutting down the heaterand energizing the blower.RESETRemove the call for heating by lowering the thermostatsetting lower than the conditioned space temperature. This resets any flash codes.HEAT ANTICIPATOR SETPOINTSIt is important that the anticipator setpoint be correct.Too high of a setting will result in longer heat cycles andTABLE 27: ELECTRIC HEAT LIMIT CONTROLSETTINGVOLTAGE kW TEMPERATURE LIMIT SWITCH OPEN TEMP °F230-3-605 1,2,3 1407 1,2,3 14010 1,2,3 15015 2,4,6 14020 1,2,3,4,5,6 150301,3,5 1602,4,6 150460-3-607 2,4,6 14010 2,4,6 14015 2,4,6 14020 3 16030 3 160575-3-6010 2,4,6 14015 2,4,6 14020 5 16030 5 150
