7CHOICE OF THE BURNEROn the control panel, near every knob, there is a diagram that indicates whichburner is controlled by that knob. The suitable burner must be chosenaccording to the diameter and thecapacity used.As an indication, the burners and thepots must be used in the following way:It is important that the diameter of thepot be suitable to the potentiality of theburner so as not to compromise the highoutput of the burners and thereforeenergy waste.A small pot on a large burner does notgive you a boiling point in a shortenamount of time since the capacity ofheat absorption of a liquid massdepends on the volume and the surfaceof the pot.Fig. 3.4N.B. When the cooker top is notbeing used, set the gas knobsto their closed positions andalso close the cock valve onthe gas bottle or the main gassupply line.BURNERS POT DIAMETERAuxiliary 12 - 16 cmSemi-rapid 16 - 22 cmRapid 20 - 24 cmDouble-ring up to 30 cmdo not use pans with concave or convex basesFig. 3.2ELECTRIC SPARK IGNITIONTo light the burner you have to rotatethe knob corresponding to the specificburner to the maximum flame position(large flame symbol) and press the igni-tion button marked by the symbol(fig. 3.3).The sparks produced by the electrodessituated next to the burner will light theselected burner. If conditions of the local gas supplymakes it difficult to light the gas burnerwith the knob set to the high flameposition, rotate the knob to the lowerflame position and repeat the ignition. If the burner flame should go outaccidentally wait for at last 1 minutebefore re-light the burner.Fig. 3.3
