14 Zanussi 8181497-01/0Before use GBPosition and clean the cabinet as explained in thesection "Installation".Before inserting the power plug into theoutlet and switching on the cabinet forthe first time, leave it standing uprightfor about 30 minutes, or for 4 hours if itwas transported horizontally. Otherwisethe compressor may sustain damage.This time will allow the oil sufficienttime to return to the compressor.Using the freezer GBTo start the freezer and set thecorrect temperatureTurn the thermostat control to the desired position.1 :The lowest position of the thermostat control resultsin the highest temperature inside the cabinet.6 :The highest position of the thermostat control resultsin the lowest temperature inside the cabinet.0 :Switched off.Allow the cabinet to run for a period of 24 hourswhenever the temperature setting is changed. Thiswill allow the temperature to stabilise inside thecabinet.Switching offSet the thermostat control to the "0" position.Unplug the power supply plug from the wall socketor, alternatively, remove the fuse.Alarms and other featuresTemperature alarmA red warning lamp lights if it gets warmer than-12°C. Find out what caused the alarm and correctthe situation. The lamp goes out when it becomescolder than -13°C.Temperature inside the freezerTo ensure that foodstuff will keep for a long time, besure that the temperature inside the freezer is -18°Cor below. Please note, however, that the energyconsumption increases as the temperature decreases.
