PIP CONNECTIONS AND OPERATION (SOME MODELS)INTRODUCTIONYour TV must be connected to two separate sources inorder to view different pictures in the main picture and thePIP (Picture-In-Picture) inset. One source must be con-nected to the ANTENNA/CABLE jack. The other sourcemust be connected to the VIDEO 1 jacks.The most common use of PIP is to view two different chan-nels; one from the channel selector in the TV and tile otherfrom the channelL selector in the VCR. For example, youcan view two sporting events o_:two movies at the same time.BASIC PICTURE-IN-PICTURE CONNECTIONSTh!Lsillustration shows the basic connection of your TV to astereo VCR. Using these connections, you can do the fol-lowing:• Simultaneously view video tape playback and a channelselected using the TV's tuner.• Simultaneously view two different channels; one selectedusing the TV's tuner and another using the VCR's tuner.• Swap the main picture and the PIP inset.How to View Two Different Chae_nels SimultaneouslyIn order to view two different channels simulta_aeously usingthe basic connection you must do the following.1. Select ANT/CABLE source for the main picture.Select your viewing channel via the channel selectorin the TV.2. Select VIDEO 1 source for the PIP inset. Se, lect yourviewing channel via the channel selector in the VCR.The VCR/TV switch on the VCR must be in the TVposition. NOTE: The VCR must not be in thePLAYBACK mode.3.
