Mirroring Port Traffic 41Figure 22 Port Statistics PageFigures on the Statistics page for individual ports arenot updated in real time. To view the latest statisticsfor the port, click Refresh.Mirroring Port TrafficThe Switch allows you to monitor traffic going in andout of a particular port. For traffic monitoring to work, you need to attach a network analyzer to one port anduse it to monitor the traffic of other ports in the stack. To set up traffic monitoring, you need to set an analyzerport (the port that is connected to the analyzer), and amonitor port (the port that is to be monitored). Oncethe pair is defined, and you enable traffic monitoring, the Switch takes all the traffic going in and out of themonitor port and copies it to the analyzer port.CAUTION: The analyzer port should have a higherbandwidth than the monitor port. Otherwise, the Switchmay not be able to copy all traffic effectively duringperiods of high traffic.Figure 23 Traffic Monitoring PageTo set up traffic monitoring for a port:1 Attach a network analyzer to a port.2 Access the Web interface, and then click Port Mirroringon the menu.3 Specify the monitor port and analyzer port from the list.■ Monitor Port — This is the port that is to bemonitored.
