3DM Disk Management Utility84 3ware Escalade ATA RAID Controller User GuideChecking Array StatusArray status can be viewed using a web browser. Event notification occurswhen the ATA RAID controller requires attention, such as when a disk arraybecomes degraded and is no longer fault tolerant. Event notification will onlyoccur while 3DM is running. Therefore, 3ware recommends that 3DM be leftrunning as background utility on the ATA RAID controller’s machine. Eventnotification’s e-mail feature can send an e-mail to a specified recipient whenthere is a problem with the array.Note: The format and style of the 3DM browser windows illus-trated in this chapter are examples only. The actual “look” of thewindows will depend on the browser, 3DM version and operatingsystem in use.View status using your standard browserOpen the 3DM browser window (see Figure 36) by starting your standard webbrowser and entering the URL of the system where 3DM is running in theaddress bar of your browser. The default URL is http://localhost:1080/ orhttp://127.0.0.1:1080/.Note: For security reasons, Mozilla does not allow connections tocertain ports including port-1080. To override this on a per-portbasis, the Mozilla release notes recommend to add a comma-sepa-rated list of ports to default/all.js (in your Mozilla installationdirectory). For example, to unblock port 1080, use the followingline:pref(“network.security.ports.banned.override”, “1080”)This file is located at:/usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref/all.jsDisk arrays and independent disks are listed on the 3DM Home display. Disksthat are members of an array are indented and listed below their parent array. The type and size of the disks or arrays are listed as well as status of eacharray, as shown in Figure 36. For arrays undergoing rebuilds, the rebuild sta-tus for each drive and port is displayed.
