D3.7.3 Mean Axial Velocity MethodReferring to Fig. 3.11:a Determine the internal diameter (D).b Measure to the top of the valve plate (VP).c Slacken the nut.d Lower the flow sensor to touch the valveplate.e Slide the positioning collar down to the nutand lock in place.f Retract the flow sensor fully.g Unlock, slide the positioning collar downand lock at the distance:h Open the valve fully.i Insert flow sensor to position the collardepth.j Tighten to 40 Nm (30 ft lbf).Warning. When inserting or removing the flow sensor suitable restraining equipment must be used toprevent the flow sensor being forced out under pressure. Ensure that the valve is fully open.Note.
