The bracketmust be mounted facing inboard to avoid being lost overboard due toimpacts of breaking waves, personnel or loose gear.Visually inspect the area surrounding the mounting bracket installationsite for hidden hazards or obstacles that may have been overlookedduring the location selection. If there is any doubt as to the readyaccessibility to the beacon at all times or if any condition may appearto be questionable, conduct a complete and thorough investigationbefore final approval of the installation.NOTE: When selecting the beacon bracket location, be sure toconsider the requirement for four screw holes to secure the bracket,plus one hole for the NMEA cable for connection between an externalGPS and the beacon, if connecting the beacon to an external GPSreceiver.
