This sectiondescribes the entries that may be logged by the system event log.The Event Log’s C ATEGORY is particularlyimportant – this is the minimum severity level that must be set in order that the event be logged.CONTENTSSetting the Event Log Category . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 366Viewing the EventS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 367System Events . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 369ISDN Cause Codes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 375Cause Code Log Entries . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 376TABLESTable 1. If too manysources have their C ATEGORY values set too low, the number of messages being logged in agiven period can be very large. If too many messages are being logged too rapidly, systemperformance can be adversely affected.
