(It can beconfigured from the faceplate whether a unit IDnumber has been entered or not.)If the control port is to be used, the control port baudrate must also be selected.Possible uses of the control port are control in andchain in.Control In (PC)The unit can be controlled from an external PC con-nected directly or through a modem to the Control Inport. When using Control In, the selection of theControl Port baud rate from 9600 (factory default),1200, 2400, or 4800 must be made using the unitconfiguration menu.Unless locked out externally, the front panel can alsocontrol the unit.Chain InTSU 120s can be linked together to form a chain.Figure 2-1 provides an example of a chain-in arrange-ment with a PC or a modem. The first TSU 120 in thechain receives controlling input from the PC ormodem.Subsequent TSU 120s in the chain are in a position tointake information from another TSU 120. This in-taking of information from another TSU 120 in thechain is identified as Chain In. The baud rate for thechained units must be the same as on the first unit.Unless locked out externally, the front panel can alsocontrol the unit.
