47 Altos R920Installation Configuration GuideConfiguring Integrated SAS Hardware RAIDThis section briefly shows how to create RAID with integratedSAS Hardware RAID.Starting Integrated SAS Hardware RAID Configuration UtilityTo start Integrated SAS Hardware RAID Configuration Utility,press CTRL-G when you see the RAID BIOS during POST. AfterPOST finished, the Adapter Selection page will show on thescreen. Please click on Start to launch the configuration menu.Loading Factory Default Setting1. In the Configuration menu, select Adapter Properties. Thecurrent adapter settings appear.2. Click on Next, change the setting of Set Factory Defaultsfrom No to Yes then click on Submit.3. Exit the utility and reboot the system.Creating and Initialing a RAID Volume1. Launch the Configuration menu.2. Select Configuration Wizard3. Select Add Configuration (default) and click on Next.4. Select Custom Configuration (default) and click on Next.5. Select the drives that you want to add into the arraywith Ctrl key. After you select the drives, click onAccept DG then Next.6. Select the RAID Level you want to use, create the logicalvolume by specify the size at Select Size and click onAccept to create the logical volume.7. After you create the logical volumes on all of the RAIDvolume, click on Accept and Yes to save the configuration.8. Click on Yes to initialize the new logical drives. Youwill see all the logical drives listed.9. Click on Home to go back to the configuration menu.10. Now you can reboot the system and install the OperatingSystem. Select Exit, click on Yes and press Ctrl+Alt+Delto reboot the system.Assigning a Hot Spare Disk1. Launch the configuration menu.2.
