5Completing the InstallationCompleting the InstallationInstalling the Windows 98 DriverWhen you attach the USBConnect 2000 adapter, Windows 98 willautomatically detect it. If it is your first time attaching the adapter toyour system, Windows 98 will prompt you to install the driver fromthe CD included with your kit. Follow the steps in this section toinstall the Windows 98 driver:1 Connect the USBConnect 2000 adapter to the SCSI device(s).2 Power on the SCSI devices.3 Connect the adapter to your system USB port.4 If Windows 98 is not running, start it now.5 If the USBConnect 2000 adapter is not already inserted in theUSB port, insert it now. If no prompt appears, continue withthe next step.6 If a New Hardware Found dialog box appears, insert theUSBConnect 2000 adapter CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive andclick OK to install the driver. Continue following the instruc-tions on the screen.Note: Windows 98 will not recognize the USBConnect 2000adapter unless it is attached to a SCSI device and it ispowered on.
